Care for your Skin.

Your skin deserves the best treatment you can give it. As babies, we generally have perfect skin, but as we get older, have hormonal changes and the hereditary ageing factor kicks in, the texture of our skin begins to change. We need to care for our skin to keep it looking as good as possible, for as long as possible.

Along with your hair, your skin usually shows the condition of your health. Illness, poor diet, lack of sleep and stress are some of the conditions that can show through on your skin. To keep you skin in the best possible condition, there are a few simple steps you can take.

-Eat lots of fruit and vegetables

-Drink Six to Eight glasses of water daily

-Do some form of exercise daily

-Use the purest skin care products that you can get

-Keep out of the sun during the hottest part of the day

-Be positive. Stress is one of the worst things for your body and can give your skin that lined, drawn look.

From a technical point of view, skin is a complex arrangement that serves us well. It regulates temperature, excretes toxins and connects our nervous systems with outside stimuli. Our skin is made up of three layers the epidermis, the dermis and the subcutaneous tissue.

The Epidermis is the outside layer. It is made up of flattened, dead and dying cells that form a water resistant surface. New cells from beneath are constantly replacing these cells, with the layer being renewed every 28 days.

The Dermis is the layer producing the new cells that make their way up to the epidermis. The dermis contains nerves, blood vessels, oil glands and is connected to the epidermis by collagen fibres.

The Subcutaneous Tissue is a fatty layer that provides a protective cushion for the bones and organs.
